Court Briefs 09-04-14

The following people appeared in Cheyenne County District Court on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014, before the Honorable Derek Weimer:

Colten Goetting, age 21 of Kimball (formerly Missouri), appeared for a status hearing on a charge of False Imprisonment, Terroristic Threats, Strangulation and Criminal Mischief. A class IIIA, IV, IV, IV and IV felony, respectively. Jury Trial set for Oct. 27-28, pre-trial conference set for Oct. 14 at 4 p.m.

Johnny Lancaster, age 52 of Sidney, appeared for a status hearing on a charge of DUI 3rd Offense High Test. A class IIIA felony. Pursuant to a plea agreement he pled guilty to an amended charge of DUI 3rd Offense. PSI ordered. Sentencing set for Oct. 23 at 9:30 a.m.

Johnny Langley, age 43 of Sidney, appeared for arraignment on a charge of DUI 3rd Offense High Test. A class IIIA felony. With counsel, he entered a plea of not guilty. Pre-trial conference set for Oct. 1 at 9 a.m.

George Ward, age 28 of Sidney, appeared for arraignment on a charge of Terroristic Threats. A class IV felony. State filed an amended charge of 3rd degree assault. A class I misdemeanor. Status hearing set for Sept. 9 at 9 a.m.

Jessie Choate, age 22 of Sterling, Colo., appeared for arraignment on a charge of Possession of Hydrocodone and Possession of Hash. Both class IV felonies. Pursuant to a plea agreement she entered a plea of guilty to an amended charge of Attempted Possession of Hash and Hydrocodone. Both class I misdemeanors. PSI ordered. Sentencing set for Oct. 22 at 9 a.m.

Bart Butler, age 35 of Sidney, appeared for a status hearing on a charge of Possession of Fentanyl. A class IV Felony. Pursuant to a plea agreement he pled no contest to an amended charge of Attempted Possession of Fentanyl. A class I misdemeanor. Sentencing set for Sept. 9 at 10 a.m.

The following people appeared in Deuel County District Court on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014, before the Honorable Derek Weimer:

Matthew Mann, age 24 of Sidney, appeared for arraignment on a charge of Burglary. A class III felony. He pled not guilty. Status hearing set for Oct. 6 at 1:30pm.

Matthew Mann, age 24 of Sidney, appeared for arraignment on a charge of violation of a domestic protection order. A class IV felony. Via counsel he filed a plea in abatement. Status hearing on the transcript set for Oct. 6 at 1:30 p.m.

Matthew Mann, age 24 of Sidney, appeared for arraignment on charges of Terroristic Threats (x2) and Stalking. Class IV felonies and a class I misdemeanor; respectively. Status hearing set for Oct. 6 at 1:30 p.m.
