Court Briefs 07-29-14

The following people appeared in Cheyenne County Court on Monday, July 28, 2014 before the Honorable Randin Roland:

Johnny Lancaster, age 52, of Sidney appeared for a preliminary hearing on a charge of criminal mischief, a class IV felony. A preliminary hearing has been continued to Aug. 25.

Steven Simpson, age 54 of Sidney, appeared for a status hearing on a charge of cruelty to an animal, a class I misdemeanor. The case has been continued to Aug. 11.

Roman Maes, age 23 of Sidney, appeared for entry of plea on a charge of 3rd degree assault: fight by mutual consent, a class II misdemeanor. He appeared with counsel and pled no contest to the charge. The judge sentenced him to 13 days in jail.

Joseph Morin, age 20 of Sidney, appeared for entry of plea on a charge of theft, a class I misdemeanor. A pre-trial conference is set for Aug. 11 at 9 a.m.

David Kogl, age 56 of Sidney, appeared for a pre-trial conference on a charge of failure to report an accident, a class I misdemeanor. The case was continued to Aug. 25.

Adrian Young, age 24 of Sidney, appeared for a pre-trial conference on a charge of DUI1st high and leaving the scene of an accident, class W and II misdemeanors, respectively. Pursuant to a plea agreement he pled guilty to an amended charge of DUI 1st Offense, a class W misdemeanor. A pre-sentencing investigation was ordered.

Amiela Bell, age 28 of Torrington, Wyoming appeared for presentment on a charge of theft, a class III felony. She appeared with counsel. A preliminary hearing is set for Sept. 8 at 1 p.m.

Darla Maynard, age 45 formerly of Sidney appeared for presentment on a charge of theft of services, a class IV felony. She requested counsel. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Aug. 4 at 1 p.m.

Dennis Maynard, age 65 formerly of Sidney appeared for presentment on a charge of theft of services, a class IV felony. She requested counsel. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Aug. 4 at 1 p.m.

Johnny Langley, age 43 of Sidney appeared for presentment on a charge of DUI 3rd High Test, a class IIIA felony. He requested counsel. A preliminary hearing set for Aug. 20 at 3:30 p.m.

The following people appeared in Deuel County District Court on Monday, July 28, 2014 before the Honorable Derek Weimer:

Jeffrey Baldridge, age 52 of Chappell appeared for sentencing on a charge of attempted possession of meth, A class I misdemeanor. He received 18 months probation.
