Lamila Nielson, 82 of Sidney, died early Wednesday morning, July 23, 2014 at home.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, July 28, 2014 in the Holechek Funeral Home in Sidney with Pastor David Hall of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Czechoslovakian Cemetery.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Lamila Marie Nielson was born May 22, 1932 at Lodgepole to John and LaWanda (Million) Oliverius. She attended school south of Sunol for her first years then attending school in Lodgepole. She graduated from Lodgepole High School in 1951.
On March 12, 1954 she married Lloyd Nielson. To this union 5 children were born: Dennis, Cindy, Leo, Sherri, and Roslin. They lived in Chappell, Nebraska for several years where she worked in the local cafes. After several years in Chappell, they returned to Lodgepole where she at the cafes there and for the school in Lodgepole. After moving to Sidney, she worked several years for Don and Joan at Grandma Jo’s before retiring. Lamila loved cooking and she enjoyed working in the kitchen.
Survivors include her children; Dennis Nielson of Wisconsin, Cindy (Richard) McKee of Missouri; Leo (Nan) Nielson of Sidney, Sherri (Lonnie) Holmes of Kansas, Roslin Rathje of Hastings; 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grand Children; sisters; Norma Markussen of Ogallala, Arlene Bentley of Colorado; and a brother Lee Oliverius of Melbeta.
She was preceded in death by her parents and son-in-law, Scott Rathje.
Holechek Funeral Home and Cremation in Sidney is serving the Nielson family.
