Donna Egging, 65 of Gurley, passed away at her home Friday morning, June 20, 2014.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 26th in the St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Art Faesser officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery in Sidney.

Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Donna's name to St. Patrick's Church or SRMC Hospice.

Gehrig-Stitt Chapel & Cremation Service, LLC is in charge of Donna's care and funeral arrangements. Donna R. Egging, 65, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on June 20th, 2014.

Donna Rae Egging was born Nov. 3, 1948 in Decatur, IL to Donald and Mabel Quigley. Her family later moved to California and from there moved to Tucson, AZ. She graduated from Rincon High School in 1966. She joined the Civil Service following high school and served for three years. While there, she met Walter Egging and they married April 12, 1969. This past April, they celebrated their 45th Wedding Anniversary.

Walt and Donna moved to Gurley in September of 1969. Donna worked at The Egging Company for a few years. After Walt and Donna adopted Tammy and Greg, she spent the next few years being a stay at home mother. When the kids were older, she went on to work at Leyton Elementary/Jr. High School for a number of years. Due to ill health, she was forced to retire and stay home. However, she was able to go back to work part time at The Egging Company. She was an avid reader and loved puzzles.

Survivors include her husband: Walter Egging of Gurley, her daughter: Tammy (Barry) Wheeler and their son and Donna's grandson, Gavin Wheeler, her brother: Donald (Evelyn) Quigley of Mt Zion, IL, mother-in-law: Mary Egging of Sidney, brothers and sisters-in-law: MaryAnn and Ivan Wemhoff of Humphrey, Neb., Louis and Gabriella Egging of Clinton, IA, Theodore and Cynthia Egging of Gurley, Donald and Betty Egging of Sidney, Robert and Darcy Egging of Oswego, IL, Sharon and Ambrey Gartner of Hastings, MN, Alan and Mary Egging of Inver Grove Heights, MN, Christina and Michael Brown of Omaha, Linda and Pete Glueckert of Minot, ND, Angela and John Florin of Oakdale, MN, Vincent and Elaine Egging of Woodbury, MN, Duane and Shelly Egging of Everett, WA, Rita and Dave Bruechert of Lakeland, MN, and Philip and Rachael Egging of Reasnor, IA, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Mabel Quigley, her son: Greg Egging, granddaughter: Alexis Wheeler, her Aunt Katie, father-in-law: Theodore Egging, sister-in-law: Patricia (Egging) Kaplan.
