The Sidney area golfing community and other interested citizens are encouraged to be at the Hillside Grill for a 5 p.m. meeting Wednesday night, May 21, to hear an update on the Hillside Golf Curse improvement project.
Andy Staples, of the Staples Group, who is overseeing the project management and construction, will address the golfing community on the status of the project and the feature changes that have occurred. Staples also wrote the City of Sidney’s Master Plan for the golf course’s long term improvements. The current project is nearing completion, but several clean-up items will continue to be in process.
Wednesday night is the opening night of one of the Men’s Leagues, which starts at 5:30 p.m.. Everyone is encouraged to be there early so the update can occur right at 5 p.m. All others are asked to also join to learn about the exciting new details.
The improvement project is being funding primarily by the new half-cent City sales tax authorized by the voters in November 2012.
A new irrigation system, pump station and reservoir were the primary items, but other improvements were also implemented into the plan.
