Five added to Sidney's state track roster

The Nebraska School Activities Association added five Raiders to the state track and field roster based upon times in last week’s district meet.

Thanks to the wild card entries, Sidney is now sending 20 scholar-athletes to Omaha.

In addition, the NSAA qualified five on the original state roster for extra events.

The new participants are Genessa Schilz, who qualified for a spot in the 400 meter dash thanks to her run of 1:03.16 in districts; Emily Mika, Gabbie Addleman and Abby Heller, who join qualifier Sara VonSeggern in the 4x100 relay; and Abbie Fraas, teaming with Heller and previous qualifiers Preslie Allen and Savanna Rosenbaum in the 4x400.

Taking part in additional events are Heyden Lienemann, who will run the 800, as well as the 4x400 and 4x800 relays; Jachob Wiedeburg, who will run the 1600, as well as the 4x800; Nick Conger, who adds the 110 hurdles to his high jumping duties; Allen, added to the 800 and 4x400, as well as the 400; and Rosenbaum, who will run the 4x400 in addition to the high jump.
