Competitors wait their turn as a trap shooter squeezes on her clay target during Saturday's Jim Pohl Memorial event at Sidney Shooting Park. A record 210 young shooters took part.
With a record setting number of competitors on Saturday the Sidney Shooting Park hosted the largest youth trap shoot ever held at the facility.
A total of 210 youth from grades 5-12 toed the line to compete in the Jim Pohl Memorial Youth Trapshoot.
The previous high for number of participants was the 176 from last year. The event is hosted by the Sidney Sharpshooters 4-H shooting program.
Among the locals, Carley Witt was the Junior High Female champion. In the Senior High Female class, Gabbie Addleman finished second while Spencer Ellwanger was fifth among the boys.
Several of the shooters managed to shoot their first 25 straight targets in the tournament including Addleman, Witt and Skyler Arent. There were also a number of personal bests on the day.
