1954 to 2014

Raymond L. "Ray" Jallen, 60 of Sidney, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at the Sidney Regional Medical Center.

Memorial services were held at 10 a.m., Sat., April 26th in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Sidney. Graveside inurnment with Military Honors were in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in Ray's name to the family for distribution to the Home Away From Home Center, the Sidney Volunteer Fire Dept., or to the Veteran's Administration in Cheyenne, WY.

Gehrig-Stitt Chapel & Cremation Service, LLC was in charge of Raymond's care and funeral arrangements.

Raymond Lloyd Jallen, the son of William Samuel and Joyce Elaine (DeMers) Jallen, was born on Jan. 24, 1954 at the Sidney Hospital. He attended the Brownson Elementary and Junior High School and Sidney High School. Ray ventured to Idaho before joining the United States Army to serve his country. He retired after twenty-one years of active service and returned to Sidney in 1995. Ray work at UPS while attending WNCC and started Ray's Auto Repair and Body Shop in 1997.

Ray was a eighteen year member of the Sidney Volunteer Fire Department, was a lifetime member of DAV and a Patriot Guard Member. He enjoyed hunting, bowling, motorcycles, shooting pool and loved spending time with his grandchildren and family.

Survivors include his wife: Margaret of Sidney; (2) sons: Shawn Jallen and wife Tiffani and Justin Jallen and Erica Johnson both of Sidney; (6) grandchildren: Jasmine, Alex and Katarina Jallen and Ashland, Brittany and Cordel Johnson; his mother: Joyce Jallen of Sidney; (1) brother: Bill Jallen of Sidney; (2) sisters: Iris Olofsen and husband Steve of Ogallala and Anne Sterling and husband Dean of Sidney; (5) brothers-in-law: Jeff Keller and wife Helen of California, Brian Keller of Corona, CA, Todd Keller and wife Melody of Gurley, Brad Keller and wife Debbie of Sidney and Mark Keller and wife Namanette of Lodgepole; (2) sisters-in-law: Vicki Verke and husband Gary of Nekoma, ND and Erin Pinkerton and husband Steven of Henderson, TX; his mother-in-law: Kathryn Keller of Sidney and numerous extended family members and friends.

Ray was preceded in death by his father: Bill and (1) sister: Sheila Deal.
