Raymond R. 'Pete' Walker, 64 of Dix, passed away Monday evening, March 24, 2014 at the Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colo.

Memorial Services will be held 10:30 a.m., Sat., March 29th in the Holiday Inn Convention Center in Sidney, with Pastor Leonard Suhr officiating.

Cremation will take place. Inurnment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.

Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Friday to sign Pete's register book and drop off condolences for the family. Memorial contributions may be made in Pete's name to the Potter Rescue Unit.

Raymond Richard Walker, was born May 14, 1949 to Silas George and Eva May (Bailey) Walker in Sidney. He attended Potter Schools and graduated from Potter High School. He joined the US Army in 1969. He then worked for Hajek plumbing, drove a cattle truck and flagged trailers in Fort Collins. He returned to Sidney, where he enjoyed working for Narjes Farms, Dinklage Feedlot, Yearous Feedlot, Russ McMillen and Maas Farms.

Pete enjoyed playing 'Pitch' and was right at home with a fishing pole or rifle in his hand. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Pete is survived by his mother Eva May Walker of Sidney; (4) brothers: Dean Walker and wife Margaret, Jimmy Walker and wife Ruth and Dale and Gale Walker; (1) sister: Shirley Kasten and husband Jeff of Potter and numerous extended family members.

Pete was preceded in death by his father, and his wife: Rose Walker in 2008.
