Housing subdivision receives final plat approval

The final plat for the first phase of The Ranch, Cabela's housing subdivision on the east side of town was approved at Tuesday's city council meeting. This phase will include 92 of the 750 lots which will eventually exist inside the development.

This is what the company considers phase 1A, which includes only land which lies outside the flood plain. The company must wait for government approval before continuing with phase 1B, featuring land in the flood plain. This could take six to eight months.

The subdivision will be located between Old Post Road and link 17J, although the first phase will only include the northwest corner of the development. Most of the lots in this portion of the project are 60 and 70 square feet, which are the smallest of the lots available in the project.

There will be 107 lots in phase 1B.

This division features pie shaped lots and curving streets, with bigger setbacks from the street than previously allowed in the city to add more green space in front of the homes.
