Are you looking for peace?

Let me tell you a story Horatio G. Spafford was an attorney in Chicago when the Great Chicago Fire broke out and left 100,000 people without any place to live. Mr. Spafford had invested heavily in Real Estate and lost a great deal of money. Mr. Spafford and his wife also lost their only son to Scarlet Fever at this time. Mr. Spafford worked to help rebuild Chicago.

Mr. Spafford decided to take his family away from Chicago on a vacation, to visit D.L. Moody and Ira Sankey in England. Mr. Spafford and D.L Moody were friends and Moody was holding services in England.

Mr. Spafford put his wife Anna and their four daughters on a ship bound for England to goo ahead of him, as he had business to finish, and he would meet them in England at a later date.

The ship sailed, but during the voyage the ship was struck by a Merchant ship and sank. The only survivor of the Spafford was Anna Mr. Spafford’s wife.

Mr. Spafford boarded a ship and started to England to meet his wife, when his ship got to the approximate spot where the ship his family was on sank, the Captain of his ship called Mr. Spafford to the bridge and explained to him this was the area where he lost his children.

Why am I telling you this story?

Mr. Spafford believed in GOD and through all he had gone through, the loss of his money, the loss of his children, everything that had happened, his trust and reliance was all he had, Mr. Spafford wrote the words “IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL”

Job writes in Chapter 19: I know my Redeemer lives and I will see him face to face.

Paul Writes in Philippians Chapter 4: 4-9 that you should not worry or fret, but turn everything over to GOD and GOD will give you PEACE.

So folks with everything going on in the Nation and World, where are you putting your Hope and Confidence.

If it’s in the world, or in your status, or your wealth, you will never have PEACE.

If your Hope and Confidence is in GOD, you can and will find and have PEACE.
