Letter to the Editor: School closure policy

I want to lodge a complaint against the weather and closure policy that Sidney Public Schools go by: 6:45 is too late in the morning to call off school or late starts.

Many kids are up at 6 or earlier and are on their way to school already at 6:45. Parents do not have time to adjust and make better arrangements.

I also want to express my total disgust that today when the temp is so low that there is school. What is the official temp when there is a thought to children going out into the cold? Have a care about all the kids walking, too poor to have proper coats, etc.
