City to pay Wheat Belt for power line projects

With east Sidney expansion projects underway, Sidney’s city council reached an agreement with Wheat Belt on the necessary relocation or transfer of electric distribution lines affected by new construction.

As part of the plan, the city would compensate Wheat Belt $5,550 for the removal of an overhead line running alongside Ft. Sidney Rd. Wheat Belt would also receive $10,338 to help with the installation of a new underground line.

Because city electric will take over some existing Wheat Belt lines, including a joint use line running along Toledo Rd. between 15th Ave. and Ft. Sidney Rd, the compensation packing also includes $17,160 for the construction of a new overhead line. This will help Wheat Belt tie into their existing grid.
