Mary A. Chilewski, 65 of Sidney, passed away at her home, Thursday morning January 30, 2014.

Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Monday from 1 to 7 p.m. Cremation will follow with private family graveside services in the Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.

All friends and family are invited to a reception in Mary's honor at 2:30 p.m., Thurs., Feb. 6th at the Shelter House in Sidney's Legion Park.

Gehrig-Stitt Chapel & Cremation Service, LLC is in charge of Mary's care and funeral arrangements.

Mary A. Chilewski, the daughter of Mary O. (Sanderson) Trumbull, was born on Feb. 1, 1948 at Scottsbluff. Mary attended the Scottsbluff Public Schools and later received her G.E.D. Following several moves Mary and her family settled in Potter. Mary was united in marriage to Charles "Chuck" Chilewski in 1985 and they moved to Sidney in 1986. Mary worked with the Office of Human Development and helped with in-home personal care. She retired from O.H.D. in 2012 after twenty-five years of service and continued her in-home care services.

Mary loved taking in animals that needed a home and truly lived her life caring for her friends and family. Others always came first.

Survivors include her (8) children: Carla Eagles of Cedar Rapid, IA, Vonda Russell of Sidney, Vaughn Ellis Russell Jr. and fiancé Bridget Brauer of Sidney, Becky Runyan and husband Richard of Solon, IA, Amy Russell of Greeley, Colo., Merle Russell and wife Haley of Gering, Robert Eugene Palmer and wife Dacia of Sidney and Dawn Marie Sird and husband James also of Sidney; (30) grandchildren; (14) great-grandchildren; (3) sisters: Janice Zajeck, JoAnn Young and husband Bill and Esther Butterfield and husband Donald all of Sidney; Mary's best friend Connie Kilpatrick and numerous extended family members and many friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her mother, her husband in 1997 and (1) brother: Johnny Trumbull.
