Second half shooting woes doom Storm

The Creek Valley boys let a hard-earned 31-29 halftime lead slip away in the final 16 minutes as they dropped a 57-45 decision to the Sutherland Sailors on Thursday night.

The Sailors upped their record to 6-10 while Creek Valley fell to 2-12.

“The kids played hard and gave a really good effort,” said Storm Head Coach Roger Behrends. “We just had trouble scoring in the second half. We need to be more efficient running our offense the entire game.”

Lane Godfrey was the high scorer for Creek Valley with 17 points. Brett Godfrey added 8 points, Colin Brott 7 and Dane McConnell 6.

Lane Godfrey put in a strong all-around effort, adding 5 steals and 4 assists to his totals. Brott was the rebound leader with 6.

The Storm head to Oshkosh Friday night to take on the Garden County Eagles at approximately 6:30 p.m.
