Raiders perform well at Sedgwick County

Five Sidney wrestlers won their matches in a dual meet with Sedgwick County on Thursday night, but the Raiders came up short in the team event by a count of 48-21 at Ovid, Colo.

Sedgewick County, a strong team which won the recently held 15-team Chase County Invite, captured nine weight classes. The Cougars won two of their matches by forfeit as they had a representative for each of the 14 weight classes.

The Raiders match winners included: Kane Taylor at 195 lbs., who shutout Jimmy Horalek 4-0; Jake Heeren, who pinned Jordan Thompson in 1:33 while stepping up to the 285 lbs. from his usual 22...
