The Cheyenne County Community Center thanked two retiring board members Friday for their time and commitment to the community.
Dr. James Garcia, a three year board member, and Ralph Castner, a nine year member, both received plaques from the center in honor of their time on the foundation board which owns the center and makes decisions about overall operations.
"I really appreciate being on the board and making decisions to keep the community center functioning and looking for better things to happen," Garcia said.
Castner also expressed appreciation for his time on the board.
"The community center is an important part of the community," Castner said. "I'm happy to help out and am looking forward to many years of success."
The board chose not to replace the retiring members and will function with 13 members now instead of 15.
