Marlin Duane (M.D.) Jobman, age 77 of North Platte, passed away Sat., Jan. 11, 2014 at North Platte. Marlin was born in Sidney on Sept. 28, 1936 to George and Catherine Jobman.

Marlin was an avid hunter and fisherman. The Canada goose was his favorite quarry. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 42 years at both Sidney and North Platte, beginning as a fire knocker and crew dispatcher, and later as engineer for 20 years.

In 1984, he married Clara and moved to "The Farm" and spent time raising calves, Canada geese, ducks, and pheasants. He thoroughly loved the country life.

Marlin is survived by his wife; Clara, children; Ginger (Derek) Erdman, Stacy (Lawrence) Gant, and Todd (Heather) Wickware, 8 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 3 sons, Craig, Steven, and Richard, parents, and a sister.

Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. on Wed., Jan. 15, 2014 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel. Private family burial service were held prior to that at the Riverview Cemetery at Sutherland. Carpenter Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
