Sidney distribution center raises money for breast cancer awareness

Cabela's Sidney distribution center sponsored a fundraiser for breast cancer awareness month, culminating in a Pink-Out Day and ultimately raising over $1,600, which was donated to local charity Every Woman Matters.

Led by General Manager Rod Baker, center outfitters participated in Silent Auctions, purchased items signifying the cause and made cash donations for a total of $1605.35 in the one week event. On Tuesday, Oct. 29 the center had a special lunch, announced the winners of the silent auction items, and hosted Every Woman Matters representative Anne Johnson, who gave a brief summary of the charity and accepted the donation on behalf of the organization.

Cabela's Diversity Team members Tana Kennedy, Zaid Lamas and Connie Siefer helped organize the fundraiser along with Human Resources Manager Amy Colerick. Billie Barros and Valerie Pooley helped make the special meal for the event and Silent Auction items were donated by outfitter Paula Parker, Dana Gibson, friend of outfitter Les Oshimoto and Kori Hicks with The Flashy Cowgirl, sister of outfitter Tana Kennedy.
