Vern Otto Brauer, Sr., 74, of Anderson, Tex. and a former Sidney resident died Sat. morning, Nov. 2, 2013, at Tomball Regional Hospital in Tomball, Tex.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Fri., Nov. 8, 2013, in the Trinity Lutheran Church, South Divide south of Sidney with Pastor Daniel Larson officiating. Burialt will follow in the South Divide Cemetery.
There will be a visitation at the Holechek Funeral Home from 5 p.m.to 7 p.m. on Thurs.
Memorials have been established to the family.

Vern was born Sept. 3, 1939 in Sidney to Emanuel and Anna Moeller Brauer. He was a 1957 graduate of Sidney High School and had been a resident of Anderson since 1981. Vern was a retired welder and rancher. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Jean Brauer and a son, Chris Brauer along with brothers, William and Alven Brauer and sisters, Eleanora Kreinbring and Lucille Frankes.
Survivors include sons, Dean Brauer, Vern Brauer, Jr., Charles Brauer and Mark Sechelski; daughters, Cyndi Christensen and Denise Howard; 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; brothers, Roland and Lloyd Brauer and sister, Betty Leech.
Holechek Funeral Home and Cremations is serving the Brauer family.
