Wreath contest brings festive color to downtown businesses

The Cheyenne County Ladies Chamber is putting on a Christmas wreath contest open to organizations and individuals. The wreaths will be displayed in windows of businesses throughout downtown Sidney until Dec. 22.

The contest will be separated into youth and adult divisions. The youth division will consist of any entries from high school seniors and below. The wreaths will be judged on originality, creativity, construction/durability and overall appearance.

Prizes will be given for three categories—most traditional, most unique and most whimsical—in amounts of $25, $15 and $10 for first, second and third places, respectively. Contestants can enter as many wreaths as desired, but will only be eligible for one prize.

The wreaths must be turned in to the Chamber office at 740 Illinois Street by 4 p.m. on Nov. 22.
