Potter-Dix loses 3-1 to Burns

The Potter-Dix Coyotes volleyball team's record fell to 1-5 after dropping a 3-1 decision in four close sets to Burns, Wyo. (5-1-1) Tuesday night.

After winning the first set 25-21, the Coyotes dropped the final three in painful fashion. Despite having the Burns Broncs down in sets two and three, Potter-Dix fell short 26-24, 25-23 and 25-20.

"Credit to Burns for their effort on the defensive front," said Coyotes Head Coach Kristi Jung. "They dug the ball really well and we just got frustrated."

Regyn Hicks was very strong at the net accumulating 18 kills during the contest. Alexus Rozelle slammed home 12. Morgan Wolff and Taylor Juelfs were on the service line for 13 points apiece. Dawson Sharman made no service errors in 10 attempts.

Sharman also had a strong defensive game with 14 digs while Kinley Vowers had 10. Juelfs and Wolff each picked up 9 digs each.

"Instead of finishing strong, we played not to lose and it came back to haunt us in the end," Jung said.

The Coyotes will host Morrill on Friday at 5 p.m.
