After dropping the first set, the Peetz Bulldogs (3-5) reeled off three consecutive wins to upend the Pawnee Coyotes (4-4) 3-1 on Friday at Grover, Colo.
In what turned out to be a close match from the start, Pawnee edged Peetz 25-23 in the first set. Though the Bulldogs won the next three games all were nearly as close. The Bulldogs took the final three sets 25-21, 25-22 and 25-17.
Morgan Burns had another strong night at the net as she led the Dogs in kills with 21. Mikenna Curlee added another 10. Curlee proved to be strong on defense too by leading the team in digs with 16. Jodie Schumacher had 11 digs, Caitlynn Peetz nine, Jessica Uhl eight and Melissa Schumacher six.
The pair of net killers up front were ably set up by Jodie Schumacher with 24 assists and Uhl with 12.
The Bulldogs wait until Friday for their next oppoent when they host Morrill at 4 p.m.
