Ronald Wayne Wooster

Ronald Wayne “Buck” Worster, age 77, a former Sidney resident and businessman with longtime family ties to the area, passed away July 16, 2013, at Mercy Southwest Hispital in Bakersfield, California.

Ron was the third child of five to Alex and Clara (Whitman) Worster, who for many years owned/operated Worster Iron & Metal in Sidney, Nebr. Ron later expanded the business into an industrial contracting/sales entity. He was an active member of the Church of Christ and BPOE #1894 Elks Lodge in Sidney, Nebraska.

Ron was born April 02, 1936, in Scottsbluff, Nebr. He graduated from high school in Sidney, Nebr. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1955.

At Ron’s request, cremation has taken place and there will be a military memorial service on August 12, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at the Bakersfield National Cemetery, Bakersfield, Calif. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Worster Family in care of the Mission Family Mortuary, 531 California Ave., Bakersfield, CA 93304.

Survivors include Ron’s ex-wives, Sharon (King) Davis and Nancy (Woodis) Worster; his brother and sister-in-law, Raymond L. and Donna Worster, Lodgepole, Nebr., his sister, Vivian Barb, Bull Head City, Ariz., a sister-in-law, Marjorie (Carroll) Worster, Thermopolis, Wyo., and a brother-in-law, Elmer (Evelyn) Sperry, Vernal, Utah.

Ron will be lovingly remembered by his children: Joyce Ann (Roger) Burress, Medford, Oregon, Ron, Jr. (Sue) Worster, Las Vegas, Nevada, Reena (Stephen) Clogg, Sale Victoria, Australia, David Worster, Strathmore, Calif., Travis Worster, Porterville, Calif., Clinton (Emmalie) Worster, Exeter, Calif., and numerous nieces, nephews, 24 gran children, and 19 great grandchildren.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Clara Worster, sister Evelyn (Sis) Sperry, two brothers: infant Genie Boy Worster and Carroll Worster.
