Jo Dent Selzer, 89, passed away peacefully in Evergreen, Colo., on May 31, 2013. She was born in Lyons, Georgia on September 1, 1923 to Joseph and Sarah (Sharpe) Dent.
She was married to James M. Selzer of Scottsbluff, Nebr., on December 26, 1944. Following his death in Korea in 1952, she married Michael M. Selzer of Sidney, Nebr., on February 13, 1954.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 11 brothers and sisters and a grand-daughter, Melisa Cae. Jo is survived by four children, James L. of Evergreen, Colo., Robert S. of Lincoln, Nebr., Michael M. of Rapid City, SD and Pamela S. (Innis) of Littleton, Colo.; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Selzer was a long time resident of Sidney, Nebr. and worked in the family’s Sidney Office Supply store from 1961 until her retirement in 1992.
Jo and Mike were active members of Christ Episcopal Church where she sang in the choir and Jo was active in the local PEO. They lived in Sun Lakes, Ariz. from 1992 where they were active in the Church of Reconciliation and Jo was active in Southwest Singers until their move to Denver, Colo. in 2006.
A family service is scheduled on June 11, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. Francis Episcopal Church, in Scottsbluff, Nebr., Rev. Kelsey Hogue presiding, with a grave-side service following at Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions to the Mountain Evans Home Health and Hospice in Evergreen, Colo.
