1964 to 2013

Sandra Lee{Bruce} Marsh has gone to her heavenly home after a tough battle with cancer.

She was born Aug. 9, 1964, at 10:29 a.m. to Larry and Twila Bruce in the Sidney Memorial Hospital in Sidney Nebraska. Dr. C.J. Cornelius Jr. was her doctor.

She grew up with brothers Lee and Wes on a dairy farm south and east of Gurley. That is where she learned to work hard, love God, the importance of family and to honor friendships. She attended grade school in Gurley and High School at Leyton located in Dalton. She graduated with a class of 13 really special classmates in 1982. Sandra participated in lots of school activities and sports. She attended college for two years at WNCC in Scottsbluff and then transferred to Kearney State college for two years and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business.

She worked for Farmers National Co. out of Kearney and then moved to Mesa, Ariz., in 1990 and worked for SRP until she was hired by Banner Health in 1992. She worked her way up the ladder to become a CFO of the East Valley Banner Medical Group. Along the way she obtained her master’s degree from Keller and developed into a well-respected leader and she gave her all to carrying out the mission statement “We exist to make a difference in people’s lives.” She served on the board of Directors at Centennial Village in Mesa Ar. for many years.

Sandra was baptized Nov. 22, 1964, in the Presbyterian Church and was confirmed in Grace Lutheran Church in Gurley. She was active in youth group and attended church and Sunday school.

She met her best friend and husband Kris Marsh and they married Aug. 4, 1995, in a small chapel in Mesa. They made Mesa their home and had many opportunities to travel and go camping. They have a very special dog named Peanut and a beautiful cat Sammy who laid beside Sandra everyday of her fight with cancer. Kris is a very dedicated and loving husband.

Sandra is survived by her husband Kris Marsh of Mesa; her parents, Phil and Twila Flohr of Gurley and Larry and Donna Bruce of Albany, Ore.; her brothers and wives Lee and LuAnn Bruce of Harrisburg, and Wes and Janet Bruce of Gurley, and a sister Andra Bruce of Albany, father-law and wife Joe and Hattie Marsh of Effingham, Ill.; sister-in law and husband Tom and Lana Henderson of Effingham, Ill.; brother-in law and wife Dan and Jeri Marsh of Penryn, Ca., Steve Marsh Conn. and Todd Marsh of Effingham, Ill.; aunts and uncles; and many nieces, nephews and cousins and a host of wonderful stand by you friends.

We so love you Sandra, rest in peace. You will make heaven an even better place.

Mountain View Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements along with Kathy Bollinger and Hospice of The Valley was a great support.

A memorial service will be May 23, at 3 p.m. at Banner Mesa Corporate Center. A memorial service will be in Dalton on May 30, 2013, at 5:30 p.m. at the Parish Of the Plains at the Trinity site in Dalton. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been designated to the Banner SOS Fund, Employees helping Employees Program at Banner health or Night of Hope in Sidney.
