Robert L. ‘Bob’ Evans, 66, of Sidney, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013, at the Colorado Acute Hospital in Lakewood, Colo.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m., Monday, April 15, in the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel with Rev. Leonard Suhr officiating. Inurnment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Cremation has taken place, friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Monday until service time to sign Bob’s register book and drop off condolences for the family.

Robert L. ‘Bob’ Evans, the son of Robert Peter and Ann Wilhelminea (Kuemper) Evans, was born on Jan. 23, 1947, at Worthington, Minn. Bob moved around the country including, Sioux Falls, S.D., Chicago, Rawlins, Wyo., Sheridan, Wyo., Portland, and Cheyenne, Wyo., before settling in Sidney in 1965. Bob purchased a truck in 1962, using it on construction sites in Colorado and Wyoming before starting a 45 year career with his father as a diesel mechanic.
Bob was a member of the Sidney Volunteer Fire Department for 15 years and loved cooking and working on fast cars. He also planted many trees and donated countless trees to the Sidney Parks Department. Following his retirement, Bob began wood working and had a passion for helping animals.
Survivors include his mother, Ann of Sidney; two children, Bill Evans and Dusti Evans both of Mesa, Ariz .; one sister, Sheree Evans-Metcalf and husband Les of Lakewood, Colo .; three grandchildren, Billy Jr., Chelsea and Randi; one great-grandchild; and numerous extended family members and many friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, Robert P. Evans in April 1976.
