Federation wrestlers head to national tournament

Parents and coaches of Sidney Federation Wrestling Club wrestlers met in the parking lot of Wal-Mart this Friday at 12:45 p.m. to send the wrestlers off and wish them good luck in the Midwest Classic Nationals Wrestling Tournament this weekend in Kearney, Neb. The event will run Saturday and Sunday, with the younger kids competing the first day and the older wrestlers competing on Sunday. The Sidney wrestlers range in age from 5 to 18-years-old, and this year Sidney Federation will have 16 returning medalists hitting the mats. Head coach, Steven Vach, said he hopes for a top three to top five finish and that the wrestlers are excited to compete. Assistant coach, Brandon Sykora, said that the wrestlers have worked extremely hard and are motivated.
