Luverne “Lighty” Gade of Pine Bluffs will celebrate his 90th birthday with an open house. The event will also be a celebration of his wife’s 85th birthday and the couple’s 65th anniversary.
Gade was born April 6, 1923, in South Dakota. He graduated from Pine Bluffs High School in 1941 and served in the United States Army with the Counter Intelligence Corp as a staff sargent with special endorsement in undercover investigations.
Back in Pine Bluffs the Gades owned and operated the Wild Horse Café and Truck Stop, then in 1975 purchased and operated Friendship Inns Travelyn Motel in Pine Bluffs....
