Robert S. “Bob” Myers, 81, of Sidney, and former Gurley resident, passed away at the Golden Living Center in Scottsbluff on Tuesday, March 26, 2013.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 30, in the First United Methodist Church in Sidney with Rev. Tom Hyde officiating. Services will conclude at the church with cremation to follow. Private family inurnment will be held in the Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.
Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Friday from 1 to 7 p.m.

Robert Stewart Myers, the son of Archie Dewitt and Pauline Freda (Pfister) Myers, was born on Aug. 16, 1931, at Stratton, Neb. On June 2, 1955, Bob was united in marriage to Deloris Grandt. To this union three children were born, Patty, Sharon and Dennis. He lived in Indianola, Neb., for 40 years and was employed by the Timmerman Feedlot for many of those years. Bob also enjoyed working for the Bartley Elevator and following his retirement he helped local farmers in the area. In May of 2008, Bob and Deloris moved to Gurley where they met many friends. In July of 2011 he was admitted to Golden Living Center in Sidney.
Bob enjoyed his family and friends, hunting, fishing and playing cards.
Survivors include his wife, Deloris of Sidney; two daughters, Patty Swayze of Sidney and Sharon Myers of Gurley; one son, Dennis Myers and wife Cheryl of Ogallala; one brother, Don Myers and wife Charlotte of Hamlet, Neb .; one sister, Arlene Richardson of Palisade, Neb .; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, John, Albert and Roger; three sisters, Hazel, Bonnie and Shirley; and one grandson, Mark Swayze.
