Sidney authorities responded to an emergency call about a hit and run on Thursday on 16th Street near North Elementary.
According to Sidney Police Department Interim Chief Joseph Aikens, the call first came in as a pedestrian hit and run, but the injured male was actually on a skateboard.
Aikens said that a teenaged-male was riding his skateboard down the hill southbound on Sixteenth Street when he ran the stop sign and crashed into the side of a black car driven by a teenaged female.
The female driver panicked and fled the scene. But after a few minutes, the driver of the automobile returned to the scene, stated Aikens.
At this time, there is no search for any suspect, as the driver of the car returned to the scene. Aikens added, “We are determining whether or not criminal charges will be filed.”
When asked the condition of the injured male, Aikens stated that he has scrapes and bruises, but he will be ok.
