Eugene “Gene” Sell, 72, of Kimball, lost his battle with lung cancer on Friday, March 15, 2013 at the University of Colorado Hospital in Denver.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at the Cantrell Funeral Home in Kimball with Pastor Patrick Aime officiating. Burial will be in the Kimball Cemetery. Friends may visit http://www.cantrellfh.com to view the obituary and leave condolences for the family. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1 until 6 p.m. Memorials have been established to the National Rifle Association in care of Cantrell Funeral Home in Gene’s memory. The services for Gene have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.

Gene was born in Sidney on Dec. 17, 1940, the son of John and Regina (Ackerman) Sell. He graduated from the Potter High School in 1960 and began working at the Sidney Airport. He then worked in the oil field as a truck driver. He retired from ABF. Gene had many loves in his life including airplanes, motorcycles and his Studebaker. But more importantly, he loved his family and making people smile.

Survivors include his daughter, Genee Sell-Jacobs of Riverton, Wyo .; son and daughter-in-law, Corey and Bambi Sell of Scottsbluff; brother, Donald (Bernice) Sell of Dinosaur, Colo .; stepdaughters, Audieanne (Jeff) Dillion of Bridgeport, and Kamn (Rick) Powell of Gering; nine grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, John Sell.
