Sidney residents prepared for a sizable blizzard that was forecast but the end result wasn’t as bad as the predictions were. The snow and wind started around noon on Saturday, and everything ended within about three hours. Accumulation amounted to a couple of inches, rather than the original forecast of 8-12 inches, and the modified forecast of around half a foot. The winds were brisk though throughout early to mid-afternoon. The nearly deserted roads around Sidney were in good shape.Although there were a few slushy spots, no ice was detected. The wintery scene was beautiful to behold while it lasted.
