MITCHELL – Draining eight 3-pointers, the Sidney High School girls basketball team improved to 15-6 with a 69-44 victory Saturday afternoon at Mitchell.
Sarah Mahr dropped three treys and scored a team-high 14 points for the Lady Raiders, who grabbed a 19-7 lead after a quarter, and never let up.
SHS pushed the advantage to 31-15 at halftime and 51-29 heading into the final period.
Karissa Segelke added 13 points, Morgan Linneman nine and Katelin Cole eight for Sidney.
Mahr hit three 3-pointers, Cole two and Segelke, Kylee Price and Sarah Kruegerall had one.
SHS concludes its regular season Friday at home against Alliance.
SHS gets second seed in District B-6
Sidney has been seeded second in the Scottsbluff Class B District 6 tournament, to be playted Feb. 19-22 at Western Nebraska Community College.
McCook, currently 19-3 grabbed the top seed, and earned a bye in the five-team field.
