P-D keeps Minatare reeling; Peetz sweeps
MINATARE — After reaching the finals of last weekend’s MAC tournament at 9-1, Minatare has fallen on tough times, dropping their fourth straight at the hands of the Coyotes, 46-36, Saturday evening..
P-D (6-8) swapped leads with Minatare (9-5), but Kyle Gorsuch hit a foul shot and Luke Johnson scored inside to give the Coyotes a 30-27 lead at the end of the third period.
Minatare got to within 32-31 early in the fourth quarter, but the Indians could not get even the rest of the way. Bryant Knigge hit four consecutive foul shots in the final minute to keep P-D in front.
Bryant Knigge scored 21 points to lead P-D, Luke Johnson adding 16.

Conner Wolff (15 points) and Kaidee Livingstone (10) scored in double figures for P-D (9-4), which held a slim 5-2 lead after one quarter before pulling away
Wolff picked up five steals, as did Taylor Juelfs (seven points).
P-D led 24-9 at halftime and 45-14 at the third stop.

Warriors improve
to 13-1
CRAWFORD — Host Leyton broke away from an 11-all tie by outscoring host Crawford 18-4 in the second period, en route to a 52-35 victory Saturday.
Brennen Cruise scored 20 points and Sam Schumacher added 19 points and a team-high nine rebounds as the Warriors moved to 13-1.
In the girls’ opener, LHS lost, 52-34. Leyton (9-6) trailed throughout, 14-8 after a quarter, 28-19 at halftime and 34-26 at the third stop.
Tessa Lukesh and Dani McKay both had seven points to lead the Warriors.

Peetz sweeps at home
PEETZ, Colo. — Peetz swept a pair of varsity games Saturday evening against visiting Weldon Valley.
In the boys’ contest, the Bulldogs (5-7) were never pushed in an easy 75-32 win.
Josh Fiscus scored a game-high 28 points, including six 3-point baskets. Tom Karnik added 21, Austin Crane 14. Crane grabbed 13 rebounds, Troy Clevenger 11 for the winners, who led 30-14 at halftime.
Fiscus also had four steals.
Beth Berhardt scored 19 points, Melissa Schumacher 12 for the Lady Bulldogs in their 47-36 win against Weldon.
Peetz (6-6) was outscored in the second half by the Warriors, but led 29-16 at the break.
