The Sidney High Plains Art council in conjunction with the Nebraska Art Council is pleased to announce the return of the Missoula Children’s Theater to Sidney, Ne.
Auditions for the production of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ will be held on Monday, Jan. 28 at the Sidney High School Auditorium from 3:45 until 5:45 p.m.
Approximately 60 roles are open for local students to fill.
All students from grades kindergarten to 12th grade are invited to come out and audition.
No advanced preparation is necessary.
Among the roles open to try out for are Jack, Mother, Milky White, the Elegant Harp, Farmers, Merchants, the Giant, Jill, Circus Performers and Wonder Beans.
Also needed are assistant directors to aid in rehearsals and for the backstage responsibilities.
Auditioners are encouraged to arrive at the auditions as soon as the school day is over and all auditioners should plan to stay for at least 2 hours.
Some cast members will be asked to stay for rehearsal immediately following auditions.
If chosen to participate in the production, rehearsals for most actors/actresses will be held for 4 hrs. a day, Monday through Friday, prior to public performances.
The participants will have two school performances of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ for Creek Valley, Leyton, Potter and Sidney on Feb.1, 2013.
The public performance will be held on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 7 p.m. at the Sidney High School Auditorium.
