On Thursday three members of the Cabela’s Retail Store, General Manager of Retail Chris Tulloch, right, Connie Carrillo, center, and Tim Dorcey, left, presented Principal of North and South Elementary Brent Jeffers, left, with a check to help purchase playground equipment. Cabela’s Retail Store in conjunction with Wheat Belt raised $3,500 to give to the two schools. Children pictured are Tyler Loffland, left, and Madeline Ball.
Cabela’s awarded their Sidney Retail Camp Fire Award Dec. 13, presenting the North and South Elementary schools with a check to help purchase new playground equipment.
Cabela’s Retail Marketing Manager Connie Carrillo commented about the reasoning behind getting newer playground equipment, “We thought it was the best way to give to our kids. You know, with some interactive type stuff, outdoors.”
At first she said they tried to raise the money just through the store, but when they were unable to raise enough to purchase playground equipment, they put on a golf tournament with a silent auction....
