Lenhart Schobert, 88, of Sidney, died Sunday morning, Dec. 2, 2012 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff.

Cremation has taken place with memorial services to be in May of 2013. The service details will be announced prior to services.

Memorials have been designated to the First United Methodist Church in Sidney.

Lenhart Benjamin Schobert, the son of Benjamin and Mildred (Elwell) Schobert, was born March 24, 1924, in Omaha. He grew up in Springfield, Neb., where he attended school, graduating from Springfield High School.

On Aug. 22, 1945, he was united in marriage to Carolyn Rose Bogar in Creston, Iowa. They moved to Sidney in 1946 where Lenhart was in the auto parts business with Elwell Motors and Humphreys Auto Parts.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church for more than 60 years and was a member of the Frank Welch Lodge #75 A.F. & A.M.

Survivors include two sons, David and partner Dr. Ronald Markby of Fort Myers, Fla., and Estes Park, Colo., and Roland and wife Sue of Waukee, Iowa; two granddaughters, Sara Sell and husband David of Las Cruces, N.M., and Amy Schobert of Minneapolis, Minn .; two great-grandsons, Jacob and Matthew Sell, both of Las Cruces; and one brother, Jack Schobert.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and two brothers.

Holechek Funeral Home and Cremations in Sidney is serving the Schobert family.
