    The Cheyenne County Commissioners returned from the Labor Day weekend to approve the 2018-2019 county budget. The budget was approved with all commissioners present at 1 percent under the 2017-2018 budget at $6,101,288.26. The approved 2017-2018 budget came in at $6,582,000. BoardChairman Darrell Johnson said the board has reduced the county budget by 1 percent each of the last four years.     An unusual football injury has left the Gurley, Dalton and Banner County communities in shock after a member of the Leyton/Banner County football team suffered a crippling injury last week.     Beginning Monday, Sept. 10, a portion of the Sidney/Deadwood Walking Trail will be closed near Western Nebraska Community College. The closure will be approximately one-half mile southeast of the college, said Galen Wittrock, assistant manager at the South Platte Natural Resources District. A Nebraska Tourism Commission press release dated Aug. 30 says tourism in Nebraska is going up. The report offers numbers including February, March and May setting all-time high records.     Early morning on Thursday, Aug. 30, law enforcement obtained a search warrant to search the residence of Jarred Neuhalfen, 26, at 3080 County Road 83, Potter.     The Sidney City Council recently approved an application for the Oktoberfest Parade. The parade is scheduled for 10 a.m. Oct. 6.     LINCOLN — The Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) has developed a new way for the public to receive Endangered Missing Advisories (EMA) directly from NSP.
