    LINCOLN - The Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) wants drivers to know there now is another resource during winter events to view road conditions.     On Dec. 21, 2018, the Nebraska Department of Education (NDE) announced the the state's public schools “are growing and improving in multiple measures.” The report comes as a result of the Accountability for a Quality Education System Today and Tomorrow (AQuESTT) result from 2018.     Lodgepole Creek Apartments, which sit in a north and east corner of Sidney within sight of Highway 30 and the hospital, was acquired about a month ago by a real estate investor with ties to Nebraska. Gerard Keating, CEO of Keating Resources, closed on the property Dec. 19. Keating said in a press release that he purchased the 72-unit apartment complex for $1.9 million.     The arrival of the first baby of the year caused due excitement this week, as miss Zaira Smay made her appearance Jan. 18. Unfortunately, in reporting the happy event, the Sun-Telegraph initially spelled Zaira’s first name wrong. We also received conflicting reports on the 10-pound baby’s length.
