Friday, August 11 was a gorgeous evening, giving Sidney's annual Night of Hope Walk for Cancer absolutely perfect summer weather for the event, and a big crowd turned out for the festivities. Sidney Public Library was the recipient of Hometown Liquor's "Round-Up" Program for the month of July. A whopping 2,794 contributions were made towards the Sidney Public Library's Children's Reading Programs, for a total of $1,359.48. On August 12, the second annual Clint "Gus" McCrea Memorial Youth Bull Riding competition will be held in Potter. The all-day event will happen on route 77 between I-80 and Highway 30. The event is held to raise awareness of suicide and self-harm in the Rodeo and Bull-Riding Community, and is named for Clinton McCrea of Potter, who passed away on March 31, 2019.
