In an article which ran in the Sidney Sun-Telegraph on Thursday, July 27 on 1A titled, “Cheyenne County revokes bond in vehicle homicide case.” The decedent was mistakenly identified as the driver. Sidney resident Lori Wiens, 48, who was pronounced deceased at the scene, was a passenger in the fatal collision which took place on May 5. Sidney Regional Medical Center did their part in raising money for the Night of Hope Cancer Walk on Tuesday, August 1, when their "Pie-In-The-Face" fundraiser ended, and the "victim" turned out to be Dr. Ariel Soriano. A number of doctors and administrators had donation buckets at the hospital and other locations for the last few weeks in preparation for the event. On August 12, the second annual Clint "Gus" McCrea Memorial Youth Bull Riding competition will be held in Potter. The all-day event will happen on route 77 between I-80 and Highway 30. The event is held to raise awareness of suicide and self-harm in the Rodeo and Bull-Riding Community, and is named for Clinton McCrea of Potter, who passed away on March 31, 2019.
