CHEYENNE COUNTY – The Cheyenne County Visitors Committee (CCVC) approved six grants and discussed scheduling a special meeting for its 2023-2024 budget. At the end of the meeting, the visitors board voted to host its 2023-2024 budget meeting the same evening of its next regularly scheduled meeting. CHEYENNE COUNTY – According to the Cheyenne County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) and Sheriff Adam Frerichs, there have been potential medicare scams reported and the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (NDHHS) confirmed there are always scams, but the department is not seeing a measurable increase. SIDNEY - The Elks Lodge in Sidney was the hot spot in Cheyenne County Friday and Saturday night and Sunday afternoon as the Way Out West Theater performed "Peter Pan" to three sold out crowds over the weekend. SIDNEY - This past weekend, members from the Sidney Elks Lodge #1894 packaged up 50 care-packages that will be sent to US troops overseas. The Lodge was awarded a $1000 Spark Freedom Grant which was used to purchase care-package contents such as hygiene products, hard candy, jerky and writing supplies. On Thursday, June 22, the Sidney Public Library hosted "Music From Around the World" with David Marsh of Humanities Nebraska. A good crowd attended the event that had David Marsh, a master musician and world-traveler, demonstrate and detail all types of musical instruments from around the world.
