  • Tax credit notices confusing some county residents

    Postcards sent to Nebraska property owners announcing their 2015 tax credits are causing some confusion for taxpayers. Cheyenne County Treasurer Diane Scott said the tax credits are not new but this is the first time postcards have been mailed. The notices were signed by Gov. Pete Ricketts and Galen Hadley, the Nebraska Speaker of the Legislature. "We have fielded many phone calls about how the taxpayer is going to receive their refund," Scott said in a media release.   • Required certification for irrigators now available online

    Online certification for irrigators is now available through the University of Nebraska Extension website. The certification is a requirement for all irrigators in the South Platte NRD and must be renewed every four years. In past years irrigators would be required to attend a class offered throughout the district to complete the certification. The online course offers two options to obtain certification.
