    Sidney High School students are receiving some valuable hands-on experience remodeling and improving a house on Maple Street. Beau McConnell, Sidney High's construction teacher, along with the school's design teacher Kim Castner are leading students in this project. The students are gaining first-hand knowledge on the demolition and reconstruction of this family home. The family of Kim and Ralph Castner donated the $28,000 home to the school for the project.     Several members of Cabela's Shared Services and Accounting divisions delivered presents to the Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraska on Wednesday afternoon.   • 19 die on Nebraska roadways in November

    Nineteen people were killed in traffic accidents on the state’s roadways during November, according to data collected by the Nebraska Department of Roads. There were also 12 fatalities on the roads in November 2013. Last month, the 19 fatalities occurred in 17 crashes. In those accidents, 13 of the 19 vehicle occupants who died were not wearing safety belts.     Dear Editor, It was quite disappointing to see all three Republican Nebraska Representatives (Adrian Smith, Jeff Fortenberry, and Lee Terry) and both Senators (Deb Fischer and Mike Johanns) side with President Obama, Joe Biden and Harry Reid to pass the Omnibus Bill last week and fund Obamacare and most of the other things Democrats want for most of another year.
