On Sunday night a Sidney family’s evening was interrupted by an apparent drive-by shooting. Investigators are looking into the incident and tracking down leads, Sidney police chief B.J. Wilkinson said. The alleged shooting occurred on Sunday evening around 8 p.m. Amy Bell was at home with her children when they apparently heard a shot and called police. The city council this week approved changes to drainage plans for the Greenwood Rd. box culvert. Don Dye of M.C. Shaff explained to the council that his company had planned to outlet the storm sewer into Lodgepole Creek just to the east of the box culvert. After further consideration, the company decided to tie the pipe into the box culvert instead. Friends and family gathered around Carol Olson in her home on Thursday as Blain Schilreff, founder of the non-profit organization Pay It Forward the American Way, displays a photo of the lodge at Mt. Rushmore where Olsen and family will stay on her dream vacation. At Tuesday's meeting the city council approved engineering services in the amount of almost $200,000 to M.C. Shaff and Associates for state contracted work on 10th Ave. from Illinois St. to Osage St. Werner Construction is planning for a March 31 proposed starting date and plan to start no later than May 12 to ensure that work will be finished by Oktoberfest.
