A free Thanksgiving community dinner, open to everyone, will be served from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day at the First United Methodist Church in Sidney. From his early childhood, Daniel Rouse (Dan) wanted to be a soldier. During elementary school classes, the question to the students was: "what do you want to be when you grow up?" Most of the kids' answers were about being teachers, policemen, firemen, astronauts, etc. Dan's was consistently "soldier".
