The 2024 recipient of the Family Tree Award is the Studnicka family. Ella Schlaman Studnicka, matriarch of the family, was born in 1916 in Lodgepole, Nebraska.     Cheyenne County for a Cause used to be known as "Dress Down Days" where employees could pay their employers $1 to be able to wear jeans, or simply dress down in general on Fridays. With today's more casual work place and work from home scenarios, the program was rebranded as Cheyenne County for a Cause.     Happening Saturday, November 16th at Sidney Elks Lodge No. 1894 located at 1040 Jackson Street, the annual Rocky Mountain oyster fry fundraiser will kick off at 6:00 pm. Tickets purchased in advance run $20 and can be purchased during Wednesday night meals at the Elks, or by scanning an Elks flyer for a QR code.
