There is a troubling trend in various schools around the nation that has become an open sore in the past few years. More and more schools are minimizing the teaching of history and American government in order to focus on things that will make our youth “more prepared to join the nation’s work force.” At least that is the excuse. Eardley Loring Ham, 85, of Lake Elmo, MN passed away October 4, 2023. "E" Ham, son of Charles and Lois Ham died October 4 at home in Lake Elmo. POTTER--It was a cold and sunny afternoon Friday at Combs Field in Potter where the undefeated Coyotes hosted the 4-and-4 Red Cloud Warriors in the first round of the D6 playoffs. GORDON-- A long season that started with summer practices at the Cheyenne County Community Center while the Leyton High School gym floor was being refinished, ended in a District Final loss to Stuart Lady Broncos on Saturday, October 28. The Leyton girls and their supporters made the trip up to Gordon-Rushville High School, the neutral site where the match was played. PEETZ--It was the showdown of the Bulldogs last Friday as the 7-and-1 Peetz Bulldogs hosted their rivals, the 7-and-1 Otis Bulldogs at Scott Sorensen Field. Both team's paths inevitably led to this regular season finale, with home-field playoff implications on the line.
