    Judge Derek Weimer of the District Court in Sidney was honored with one of the Nebraska Supreme Court’s highest awards in early October at the Court’s 2024 meeting in LaVista. Weimer was awarded the Improvement of the Judicial System award by Chief Justice Mike Heavican at the Court’s annual judicial awards luncheon.     SIDNEY--October 19, 2024, marked a significant milestone in the history of residents who've made a great impact on the development of Sidney. The date was the 100th birthday of Paul Sheaman, a lifelong Sidney resident and prominent member of the community who has contributed so much to the history of our town.     SIDNEY--Gloomy skies and a light mist didn't keep away aviation fans, pilots, and aircraft maintenance students from the annual Voc-Air Flying Club Fly-In Breakfast on Saturday morning at Sidney Municipal Airport.
