The American Plains Artists accepted four artworks by J. I. McElroy of Gurley for inclusion in its 2016 "Art of the Plains" Signature Show being exhibited at the South Wind Art Gallery in Topeka, Kan. Sixty-seven artworks from 27 APA signature artists from across the nation were accepted into this show. For the girls, Alexus Rozelle and Audrey Juelfs of Potter-Dix and Jessie Straber of Creek Valley were named to the All-MAC first teams.
